Tour Itinerary

Day 1 :

Nairobi to Nanyuki

After a hearty breakfast in Nairobi, embark on a scenic journey with our expert mountain guide to Nanyuki, arriving in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon acclimatizing in Nanyuki and exploring the stunning Mount Kenya region. Visit the historic Mau Mau Caves, where freedom fighters sought refuge during World War II. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel in Nanyuki.

Day 2 :

Nanyuki to Old Moses Camp

Following breakfast, drive to the Sirimon Park Gate and commence your exhilarating 5-hour hike to Old Moses Camp at 3,330 meters above sea level. Enjoy a meal and overnight stay at the cozy hut, nestled in the heart of Mount Kenya.

Day 3 :

Old Moses Camp to Shipton Camp

Begin your day with breakfast before hiking from Old Moses Camp through the scenic Mackinder’s Valley to Shipton Hut at 4,200 meters. Revel in the stunning landscapes and spend the night at this well-equipped camp.

Day 4 :

Shipton Point to Lenana to Mintos Hut to Chogoria Bandas

Rise early, around 2:30 AM, to begin your ascent to Point Lenana at 4,985 meters. On a clear day, the panoramic views extend to Mount Kilimanjaro to the south, Mount Elgon to the west, and the Indian Ocean to the east. After reaching Point Lenana, descend to Mintos Hut at 4,250 meters for a delicious breakfast. Continue your journey to Road-head for lunch before proceeding to Chogoria Bandas for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5 :

Chogoria Bandas to Nairobi

After breakfast, embark on an early walk to the Chogoria Gate, then proceed to Chogoria Town for lunch. Return to Nairobi in the late afternoon, having successfully conquered Mount Kenya.

Note: The last 32 kilometers from Chogoria Bandas to the park gate can be completed partly on foot and partly by jeep, which can be shared among clients. This option is available upon arrangement with the guide and is not included in the standard package cost.
